Update Smargo Firmware: How to Fix Common Errors and Problems

On both platforms the device starts blinking blue (LED) upon insertion, but update attempts fail.. below is some information for each platform - if anyone can offer help/suggestion/insight it's appreciated.

Is it really necessary to update your device? I got it working on an E2 STB, how ever up untill now all 3 readers won't read my Conax-card, Seca3-card works well! Maybe you need some extra plugins to get it working. See below (OScam werkt niet) if you need any translations....

i'm using a DB800 clone as a server running the fore mention emu, i have the BH 2.1.6 image on it, i've got 2 cards want to use a cyfra nc+ and a redlight fusion 12 channel or it used to be, and of course the smargo triple reader which i've updated the firmware on with windoze.

I have been getting some erratic ecm times on one of my nagra 3 (vmedia)cards using oscam & omnikey reader.... I have got 3 spare smargo readers so I have been trying to get this card to work in the smargo reader to see if more stable. I have a different nagra 3 card also (zon tv cabo) in same pc to try get some compareable results. Thus far I cannot get the card to initiate or even start up for that matter with the smargo.What I have done is tried all 3 smargo's with differentfirmware versions 1.3 1.4 & 1.7 No start and same result.Swapped cards around, zon card works with all smargos regardless of firmware version..Tried in a different pcUpdated all apt-get packages on debian,Tried different mhz settings ranging from 150,357,368,422,560,780,960,1010. ... still same result.....
